Re: Crystal Report question???
Crystal Reports is a software that allows you to create reports of any kind.
Can it be helpfull to you ? I don't know ? Depends on what you need to do and I don't know that either. There are numerous report writers out there but Crystal is one of the most powerfull packages but also very expencive. VB has DataReport included - it's not as flexible but will do the job to a certain degree. You may also build reports in MS Access but in order to run it Access would have to be installed on the destinatio machine so you can automate it...

No, you're going to type your "thesis report" yourself UNLESS it's stored in the database.
Crystal Reports (as well as other) are designed to create business reports (invoices, comparasion, etc, etc, etc ...) but NOT to do someone's homework, though.
Best regards.
actually whenever i asked my friends abt it they usually said the same thing "helps in making reports" !!!
even u said so:

so it means that if i m making a database project then i can make reports (say for presentations, billing customers etc) based on the values of the database???
if this is so...........can i make the report on the relationships between the tables???
btw, I hope you were kidding ...
i dont know maybe yes........maybe no!!!
PS - i ahve finished my thesis report, though

As already mentioned by RhinoBull, those are the kind of reports that it can produce.
You can base a report on related tables, or pretty much any SQL you like.
If you have created reports in Access then you have done something similar to Crystal, which is essentially just a more complex (and powerful) version of the same thing.
