License problem (RESOLVED)
Hello everybody
I tried installing my application on a freshly formatted PC. The OS is Windows XP SP2. After installing the Crystal Reports 10 required runtime files, I proceeded installing my application. Unfortunately, when I tried to run it I got the error
Code:
License required for ActiveX component
since the only commercial component I`m using is the Crystal Reports 10 RDC, this must have to do with CR 10. The odd thing is that the same installer works fine on other machines.
Could it be that I need to install MDAC 2.8 or something else on the PC I`m talking about?

Re: License problem
The odd thing about this is that when my application starts I`m not creating any Crystal Reports object. Doesn`t this error pop-up only when an object of a licensed ActiveX control is instantiated? So I suspect that this has to with some Data Access component not having been installed.
The other thing is that in my application installation package I`ve included dao350.dll which is required. I`m not sure that this is the correct way to distribute this dll though.

Re: License problem
Have you tried installing MDAC to see if this has any effect?

Re: License problem
Does MDAC install correctly when you have Windows XP sp2 installed? I tried installing it on a localized version of Windows XP sp2 and it failed to start.
