Still think Firefox is best?
Opera is now 100% completely FREE and ad-removed, which makes it more fast and feature packed then Firefox!

Great, now it just needs to display pages properly and get accepted by more online banking systems

Hopefully Opera will take some of IE's share also. Between Fx and Op (?) they should take back the monopoly on browsers

I still prefer FF's interface and extensions. Besides, Opera doesn't exist in a 64-bit version.

They'll probably release a 64-bit version to tie in with the Windows Longhorn/Vista (or whatever they're calling it now)

Doesn't Opera identify itself as IE?
When it stops doing that by default, its share should magically go up!

Re: Still think Firefox is best?
I'm trying it out at the moment and a couple of things have struck me, both regarding bookmarks. I can't seem to get rid of the Amazon,Download,eBay Bookmarks, so not quite add free. Secondly is Opera the only browser to use Ctrl+T for adding bookmarks? After using Firefox for so long whenever I go to open a new tab I keep bookmarking the page.
Oh and when you double click on an exe in the Transfers page it dosn't give you any warning that your about to launch something that may be unsafe, which I think would be nice.
For now I'm still leaning towards Firefox but thats more to do with the time I've invested in getting to know it and of course the extensions the "Undo Close Tab" is the best.

That extension is a waste of time.
It is incorporated into the mighty Tab Mix extension!

Re: Still think Firefox is best?
Well, seems like they are having a problem with version control.
First FoxClocks lost an hour after an update.
Then, my auto reloader freaked out. I set it to refresh a page every five minutes, and at unrelated times, it would refresh constantly. Usually I could catch it by noticing the slowdown, or the blinking tab. I missed it one time, and got an angry letter from the site asking why I refreshed their site ONE MILLION TIMES!
I deleted the refresher, but just modified the time in FoxClocks.
I wish they'd get things sync'ed.

IE for teh win! I've tried almost all the alternatives, I always fall back on IE. Probably cuz its so integrated into Windows.

If you deleted them from the Manage bookmarks window, delete them from trash too

i find that quite surprising, since it is one of the main reasons that people move away from IE.

I am assuming you mean the search bar in the top right corner?
If so these can be deleted from the \searchplugins directory in the Mozilla Firefox directory

I like the fact that Opera has a theme engine, you can easy browse themes, download and if you dont like delete it from the same window.
You can also download Text>Speech Plug-ins and more

Fx also has a great theme engine, and more extensions than you can poke a stick at...

Re: Still think Firefox is best?
I love firefox. It can be recognized as anything you want it to be. Open up firefox, put about:config in the address bar. and you can change almost anything including the user agent.
An alternate way would be to get the plugin that pretty much does this for you called User-Agent Switcher (simple enough, eh?). Then you can make firefox show up as Opera, IE (any version), Netscape, or make a custom one.
And the greatest thing of all about Firefox is its AdBlock plugin that lets you block anything matching a list of criteria you have. Suppose I don't want anything from a subdomain called ads. (eg: ads.ebay.com), I'd just put in http://ads.* and boom. If I see an annoying ad I dont like, i can right click it and go to Adblock Image. simple as that.
Also:

Not true. I do not know about the speed comparison, but it's not as feature packed. I could not find anywhere on opera's Features page about extentions. I also couldn't find a feature that isn't available on firefox (either integrated or available as an extention). There were also extentions for firefox that Opera does not have (the user agent switcher, among many others)
Yes. I still think Firefox is the best.

Heres a quest for you lot then, use Firefox for 3 days, list your problems, then same for Opera. Its a biased test as you will all say Firefox is problem free when Opera isnt

Re: Still think Firefox is best?
Last time I tried Opera, it crashed within 5 minutes
Admittedly, though, it was a beta running in a hostile environment (64-bit Linux).

You do that, since you have both. List out the complaints with each one, and post them here.

As you said, The test will be biased. I will not say Opera is better, and you probably wont say Firefox is better. The test is no use. Sorry.
I love the AdBlock feature. I couldn't tell you the last time a spyware scan came back with any results.
Advertisements on websites have become increasingly popular. Most every house in the USA has a computer with internet connection. Businesses know that advertising on the internet is very effective and well worth their money. However, some businesses are very obnoxious and annoying. For instance, the Flash ad that has the person who just starts talking. Or the one with the Mortal Kombat rip-off fighting game where you "win a free iPod for killing the guy" etc. It's very annoying, and not what I want to suddenly hear at 3am.
I will not be willing to switch or even try another browser unless said browser has a very equal feature.
Also, Another feature that is really cool. There is a website called DeviantART of which I am a member. There is actually a FireFox extention to SKIN that page. This means that it changes the color scheme and layout. Can Opera do that? Didn't think so.
All in all, a very important feature in any web browser is extentions. No dev team can come up with a product that will suit everyone. That's what's great about FireFox. Its dev team is anyone who would like to go download a copy of the source and edit it to fit their needs, or anyone who would like to make an extention.
