    For the actual server portion on Windows 98 you cant and XP only the Evaluation, Developer, and Workgroup Edition. See this page for all the SQL requirements.

    I have installed SQL Server 2000 Personal Edition in XP, I just dont know in 98...

    Well he hasnt stated what version of SQL he is trying to install but all the specs are listed on the ms link I provided and yes 98 can run personal ed. but its a trimmed down version.
