My Monitor display shrunk
Hi,
For the last one week my monitor was blinking once in a while and yesterday my monitor after two or three blinks with "zzzz" sound, the display suddenly shrunk (as if squeezed from the sides)..I couldnt correct it with the property settings on the monitor.the display area has become almost half the original size. Can you tell me what might be the reason? Mine is a LG 15" monitor bought 3 yrs back. Can I correct this or do I need to go to the Service center? Can I get it serviced from a local repairer?
Thanks
Vijay S

Re: My Monitor display shrunk
Does it work with any other computer? You might have a graphics card problem.
Is there any setup tools in the monitor that let you adjust the position of the screen? See if you can get anything to appear outside of the part that is showing now.
I've seen TV tubes that have shrunken, and the transformer was bad, but I don't think a LCD screen exhibits the same properties.

Could be the power supply, but check to see if it works on another machine.
Thought you said it was a LCD.
If the monitor's bad, you might be better off just getting a new/used one.
They aren't much more than fixing one.
