    Resolved [RESOLVED] wireless optical mouse

I've never had a wireless mouse before; just today I opened up a new one. This may sound really stupid, but I can't figure out how to put the two AA batteries in the mouse. I unscrewed two screws from the back, but it is still tightly intact. How is this supposed to be done?

It goes in the bottom of the MOUSE, not the BASE.
Don't toss your old one. I hate them. The batteries tend to die very ofter when you least expect it. Always turn it off when not needed (if you have a switch on the base)

I agree with dglienna, mine is in a ziplock bag in the closet. After using it about a week I got tired of it.

I love mine. Fortunetly where I work we have an endless supply of batteries so that is not an issue. Some "mouses", err Mice have a door where your palm sits, the whole piece slides off. Also have you thought about maybe reading the instruction manual?

    HERESY!!!

Best figure out where the batteries go, you will be changing them often. I still use a wireless keyboard, but even with rechargeable batteries I found I was swapping them far too often.

lol, yes, the instruction manual is so helpful - it simply says "insert the batteries and then move on to [whatever]......" doesn't tell how! lol. I think it's because it's a cheap one.....HorngTech or something.
    Thanks for the suggestions all.

    I dumped mine.

at first I had trouble finding WHERE the batteries should go. the manual was japanese. found out after a couple of minutes that it should slide easily outwards to top part of the mouse... but then after a month of using it, I got tired of changing batteries. :s

Yep, turns out that what a couple of you mentioned is right - you have to slide the top part of the mouse off. Of course, you have to press down on this certain place, combined with the fact that at first it was very tight. So finally I did figure it out. Still, so ignorant that the instructions don't mention it. Oh well. I get the feeling I may get tired of the battery thing too....

anyway, thanks all for the replies
