Resolved [RESOLVED] Best Series of Books?

I would set up a poll for this, but I don't know enough about the different books available to assemble a reasonable list.

I am looking for some opinions on the best book series to use to assist in learning vb.net. My logical choice is the MS Press series but I was hoping for some input from those who have actually used books as a main resource for learning.

Also, if anyone knows, I would not mind some reviews of the CD versions available for the MS Press series (i.e, do they contain as much information as the books?)

    Thanks Much

Evidentally everyone here is so smart that no one actually had to read any books?

SAMs has always made good technical books. I own a lot of them.

I mostly buy graphics books, and most of them from "Premier Press", but if I have to buy other kinds of books, then I try to go for Wrox or O'reilly as a second. I am sorry, but I really don't like Sams too much. At least not the 21 days stuff. Not my style at all. So then we get to my point. It is more about what style you are used to, and what you expect as well as what authour that has written it, more then what publisher it is. At least thats how it is for me.

I usually get the ...in a Nutshell books from O'Reilly for a language. Those books do not only assist you in learning a language but are also a valuable resource once you know the language and need a reference once in a while.

The Wrox series of books has done everything for me. Not only did it teach me VB.NET, but it also washed my underwear.

I would agree with the 21 days books, but SAMS also puts some some very reputable technically advanced textbooks as well.

Thanks all, no one has said anything about the MS Press books so I assume they are unimpressive?
