How do I reliably switch between Office applications using code? I have an excel workbook that when opened goes to full screen mode, opens other workbooks and then starts a powerpoint slideshow. I wish to be able to press a button on the slideshow that switches to one of the workbooks (that is still in full screen mode) and then press a button on Excel to get back to the presentation. I used to use a Hyperlink in Powerpoint to achieve this but on my latest machine (windows XP) this causes another instance of excel to be started. I have tried using API calls to get the window handle of excel and then bring that window to the front but it does not always work.

Is there an easy way to identify and office window and then show it?

Welcome To the Forums.

The issue may be that you need to minimize the full screen pp presentation first and then activate the excel app all in the same procedure in PP.

this might sound a little silly, but cant you just use the Alt-Tab and Shift-Alt-Tab?

If you can, you may not want to since the dialog window for the switching of windows by tab will momentarily be shown.
