    Re: usb problem

If you added the usb port and the computer did not originally have one then you might need to enable the port in the Bios, otherwise the usb port esentially does not exist.
    -------------------------------------------------------
    a) Access the computer’s BIOS
    b) Enable the USB port.
    c) Save the changes and then restart your computer.

    Re: usb problem

    hi
I did that too..still does not detect usb...
in BIOS....usb port was DISABLE I changed to ENABLE..But it is useless..

The newest problem ı encountered is that..
    I formated C:/q
    I placed win98SE cd in D drive
than I typed D: but it did not detect D .it is always saying "invalid paramater"
I tried E:..F:..G..and so on but stil got the same message..This is the first time I have such a problem..!!!!
How can I format if my computer does not detect win98 installation disk?
hope mthat any one can help me..
    thanks

    Re: usb problem

If you are talking about dos commands, I have not dealt much with them in a long long time, but I welive it would be a backslash, not a forward slash (c:\ not c:/) and try D:\setup.exe

Also, just verify that your d drive is working from withing the windows environment. Try to get some tech help from the company that manufactured your Usb.

In any event, I hope you are not formatting only b/c of the Usb problem. Worst case, get on Ebay or somewhere and get a cheap copy of XP, it is well worth the upgrade from 98.
