Re: Software to convert Mp3 files to Midi Format to paly the file In Piano - Help Nee

Floppy?? What the heck is that?

Mp3 files are severly compressed which is why they are only 3 Mb as oppossed to the 35-55 Mb they take up on a music Cd. Midi files are also uncompressed, similar to a file found on a music cd, therefore they will take up alot more space than the Mp3 file as you have already noted. It would seem that if your friend is only able to use floppies then he will not get much on there.

I don't know how good the trial is, but it looks like this will accomplish your goal.

    MP3 to MIDI

The free trial is on the right hand side of the page.

Also, if siply renaming the mp3 extension to that of of MIDI works for you, perhaps you can try a free mp3 utility or trial and set the compression to the maximum to see just how small you can get it. I doubt that most songs will ever get small enough to fit on a floppy though.

    good luck
