Why does it comes in boxes??

    Hi guys!

im currently very pissed off my crystal report.......

first of all...for some unknown cause, every time i generate a report...there's always a blank page after the detail part and the report footer....

another thing......which is the main topic: why every time i export it into a microsoft word (.doc) documents......the report comes in boxes???

boxes means, one paragraph is one box.....one label, one box.......basically it shapes exactly like it was in the crystal report generator..........

    anybody can help me please?

here's the snapshot of what im talking about.....

basically, it's making the exported word document pretty useless and VERY hard to edit!

Re: Why does it comes in boxes??

CR is such a weird animal that while many of us might be experienced (I'd hardly call myself a guru, in fact I try to avoid doing that around here (her being my office) as that would then mean I'd become "the gnome" for doing reports) unless some one else has experieced that same problem and found a way to fix it, no one is sure what to tell you. The way I figure it, it's proly better to get no help (btw have you looked at the CR knowledge base?) than to get the wrong kind of help. Plus over the weekend, things tend to slow down around here.

That said, the only thing I can think of for the blank page problem is that your details (or possible your report footer) is a touch too long, forcing it onto a new page. I've had that happen to me. Mostly it's when the client has required the entire thing be all on one page, but spaced out nicely.

As for boxes..... can't say I've seen that. Our exports to Word have been fairly cleen. Are you doing the export while previewing the report, or while in design mode? Also in our Export options, there's two entries for Word, one regular and one that's "Extended". We've gotten better results from the one that isn't "Extended"

well yeah, im a bit frustated with CR overall.....LOL

i tried to export it after the report is generated on the viewer........seems like there's only one type of .doc available........
