    Resolved [RESOLVED] MySQL

    i have a program called xampp that came with php 5 and mysql and a few other things in 1 and i dont no where to go to set the password for the MySQL user nor do i no how to make a new account for it. could anyone help me out?

    I've never used XAMPP, but you should be able to login as 'root' with a blank password. I think XAMPP comes with phpmyadmin, which you can log into and create your users and such. I'm not sure where it's located, maybe try going to http://localhost and see if you've got any links to it on the default page they set you up with. Other than that, I log into mysql on my local machine(which is windows) by going into the command prompt and typing in:
    mysql -u root

    You should probably read the docs on XAMPP this is assuming you're running it on a windows machine.

    yea i have phpmyadin and theres a php doc called user password but wen i type the link to this it cant be displayed for some reason. i'll check out wat u sent after my movie

    wqell according to the xampp docs u cant create a different username but u can set a password for the root username but since its localhost and there wont be any security issues i'll just leave it blank

    meh... *** is zampp anyways... lol.. i use easyphp from easyphp.org... comes with all i need...mysql/php/apache/phpmyadmin

    xampp was delevoped by apache to like promote there servers or something its pretty much the same as urs but it comes with filezilla FTP program
