Good news left and right!!!
Piece one: I got my computer up and running at UNI. Piece of junk that it is, it works, so I'm not complaining.
Piece two: It's a megabit ethernet connection..... faaaaast.... Downloaded Symantec 10, a 24 meg file, in about half a minute... *drool*
Piece three: I upgraded to FireFox!!!!!!!!!!
Piece four: I'm makin pointless smilies again!!!

Re: Good news left and right!!!
Tsk tsk... I am disappointed.
True coders long for the days of 2400 baud modems and 4 color BBS's. This new fangled megabit connection is warping the minds of those who would code.
It's a disgrace.
I don't live here any more.

Re: Good news left and right!!!
I'd say i'm a fairly easy target now...
I am upgrading from 128 Mb ram to a gig as soon as i get some money.. found out it's not as expensive as I thought, so there might be hope for my computer after all.

Re: Good news left and right!!!
Except right now I still only have 128 mb ram, and just launching FF is sluggish. I'm not gonna bother with VoIP until I get my upgrade.. and even then, i'm not sure if i'll bother.

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/faq
How do I spell Firefox? How do I abbreviate it?
Firefox is spelled F-i-r-e-f-o-x - only the first letter capitalized (i.e. not FireFox, not Foxfire, FoxFire or whatever else a number of folk seem to think it to be called.) The preferred abbreviation is "Fx" or "fx".

If you get a service VoIP doesn't run through your computer. Only something like Skype does. My VoIP costs me $20 a month unlimited calls to US, Canada and western Europe. I also get all the features you'd have to pay for with a regular phone company, like call ID.

I have 2 bean cans and a bit of string. It facilitates unlimited free calls to anywhere within a 5 metre radius of me. That's still infinitely better value than anything you have to pay for. Its the future.
