Re: Most annoying replies to requests for help.
How can you tell who has rated you (whether for the better or worse) and for what thread it was?

Re: Most annoying replies to requests for help.
I don't think you can tell who repped you but if you click the rep it should take you to the post in the thread that they gave you the rep for.

Re: Most annoying replies to requests for help.
No I'm not. They are for the benefit of other members to be able to gauge either the quality of code a member produces or the level of extraordinary help in solving your problem.
It does not mean that the member is a "Guru" as its subjective to the opinions of the members rating that person. Not to mention that some members are always trying to cheat the system and give and receive Reps just upon the asking.
There are allot of members that are more knowledgeable then myself. I do have my own area of speciality (Office Automation) and no one "knows it all".

Re: Most annoying replies to requests for help.
you click the rep and it will show you the post you were repped for.
As for seeing who did it, only mods and above can see that.
If you feel you were repped unfairly you can ask one of them to tell you who did it

Yeah - In true form to the topic I actually checked my CP after I posted the question . I have 11 reps from 4 people.
How does that work ?

Re: Most annoying replies to requests for help.
Any "unfair" Reps will not justify an Admin telling you who did it. Reps are aynominous unless they sign the comment with their username. Mods+ can see who the Rep'er was but thats all.

I think that has to do with a person's rep Power.

Re: Most annoying replies to requests for help.
Reps are not unfair but just need to be held in the same respect as postcounts. A member with high postcounts does not mean that they are very knowledgeable. They could be spamming, asking allot for help, etc. A member with high Reps could have asked for them from members by PM'ing them, exchanging them freely for no valid reason all in attempts to gain more Reps. The systems are not perfect but do help in making a judgement call on the type, quality, and level of assistance that a member has.
