XP Pro User question
I have a PC running XP pro. It has one user besides the Administrator account. When the PC starts up, it automatically logs into the account I created, called User. However, one of my programs needs to access a paradox database and the program can't find the database. However, if I chosse start>Logoff, then I get the Welcome Screen. I click on the user called User (its the only account that shows on the Welcome screen) and TADA my program finds the database. SO, my question is, can I force the user to click on the account called User, from the Welcome screen, when the PC starts and not have them use a password (I know that its not secure, but the way this network is setup, its easier to do without )

Re: XP Pro User question
Download TweakUI. It allows you to start Windows with any account that you want. Also, in USERS ACCOUNTS, have Windows show the XP menu so that if Tweak weren't running, they'd have to click on an account. I guess you could do either one, except that I don't understand which account is running when the machine starts up.

Re: XP Pro User question
The account called "User" is running when Windows starts. If I log off , thus getting to the Windows Welcome screen, and then log back on to this account by clicking on the account called "User", the program I'm trying to run works fine. So, I thought if I could make it so that a person using the machine had to click on the account called "User", then the program would run fine. I need to keep things very, very basic as the person who primarily uses this machine has very limited knowledge, and doesn't like it when they have to do something different.

Re: XP Pro User question
I thihk if you create a second account, there will be a logon screen to select which user to log on.
