Is It Just Me...
...or did every single mod end up being the moderator of the Forum Test Area just recently? I wonder why?

Re: Is It Just Me...
Used to be that hidden chit chats were used in the Forum Test Area sometimes out of shear humor.

Actually I used the Forum Test Area to upload some pictures to transfer from one computer to another. Posting it in Chit Chat will just be too embarassing to even describe.

Re: Is It Just Me...
Isn't it possible just to add the Moderators group rather than all of them individually? It just looks a bit ugly like that.

Re: Is It Just Me...
Nope, its a permissions issue that is allot of work and issues to oversee and apply.

Bah, silly vBulletin. I could do that in about 3 seconds on an Invision board

Re: Is It Just Me...
3 seconds huh?
But may partly be the fact that we have many Mods/Super Mods to manage that makes it allot of work.

Re: Is It Just Me...
Maybe, but (on IPB anyway) you can add groups as forum moderators. So if there is a Super Mod group and a Moderators group you just add them and that is all that shows up on the index page under the "Forum Led By" heading.

Re: Is It Just Me...
Yes, vB has those too but with our VB Code hack and other custom tweaks having custom groups caused an issue, I believe.

Re: Is It Just Me...
Actually, permissions can be set on the role for the forum. The reason this wasn't set up on the Testing forum was because it didn't provide notification by default. To get notifications, a person has to be assigned as the mod, or we have to set their email address into the forum area settings. It was easier for Marty to simply assign the mods to the forum.
In summary, there are multiple ways to do something. We chose to assign the mods.
