image conversion

Anyone know of an API call to convert an image to a different format (ie bitmap to jpg) ? This is for a dll that I am creating so I cannot do it through a control, it must be done through code. Any help is appreciated.

not sure of an api, I found this third party dll that works pretty wellwww.informatik.com

Thank you BG. A good suggestion but I would like to do this without using a 3rd party component. I figure there has got to be a way to do this using a windows dll or API call. Any other ideas?
