    Smile Memory management error

    Hello..
I have a p4 2.4 ghz machine with a 256mb ddr ram and a 40 gb harddisk.I dont know whats wrong with it now...Everytime I try to install windows,I get this blue screen saying error in Memory_Management..
I tried changing the ram of the pc with the same 256 ddr ram from another pc.I tried changing the harddisk.I tried removing every card too.Still,Im having the same error.Could this be because of the power supply?

    Thanks
    Godwin

I seriously doubt this would be the power supply, What version of Windows are you trying to install??

    Re: Memory management error

Maybe your disk ins't formatted correctly

Try booting fdisk and doing a quick re-arrange of partitions (Deleting/Creating etc.) then formatting them through the WinXP install.

    - I can't be responsible for any fo the above as data loss may be caused etc., it's only what I've done before

    Re: Memory management error

To be honest, I really don't understand why you think it's to do with the power supply, unless it's a laptop, it shouldn't make a difference

(And I bet Tux could fix it )

    Re: Memory management error

Ive tried switching all the parts..Tried repartitioning, formatting, changing everything...
And now the only 2 parts which Ive not changed is the motherboard and powersupply..
I just hope the motherboard didnt get screwed.. I suspect the power supply finally

    Re: Memory management error

The last time this happend to me, was because the Ram was failing to keep the required files in memory.. I suggest you upgrade the Ram to 512Mb as 256 is the minimum spec for XP Pro.

    Re: Memory management error

Have you tried using your installer on other computers? Perhaps your installer is the problem and not your computer.

Your Ram is the issue, how long have you had it...

I had the exact same problem, upgraded the ram by buying a 512mb and used it along side the 256 and it's been working fine.. even got vista working this time around..

If Ram is the problem, then how was it working fine for more than a year? It was working fine with a 256mb ddr ram.I even tried putting another 256 mb ddr ram from another good computer. But still,Im having the same problem
