    is this beacuase of different file systems. ?

    well i got that usb case, and the hdd. it works great but heres somethign that got me.

    i put some stuff on it using xp pro, and the files sys is ntfs.
    i brought it to a buddy, and i think he has winME.they use fat32 right ?

    is that why when i click on drive g: (the usb harddrive) is says " g: is not formatted. format now y/n?"

    diffenrt file systems...fat32 VS ntfs is why it wont work right ?

    So its when your buddy tries to see the drive on his computer? If so that should be it as I dont think ME supported NTFS. Or am I wrong here? Anyone else key in on this?

    Now if it was the otherway around there shouldnt be a problem as XP would definatly have no problem seeing FAT32 and NTFS.
