Novell vs MS server 2003
In a big business setting, why would novell be used over MS Server 2003???? I thought MS Server 2003 beat novell in all aspects, or am I wrong? Is there some advantage to using Novell over Server 2003, besides costs?

I'm talking around 1000 employees. Not everyone has a computer, but the ones that do have 2 or 3.

Novell is dead. The Networking Server market is dominated by Microsoft, because you're going to buy a Windows NT based OS anyway, and it comes with networking client ability, why buy a novell client on top of it?
From what I've seen, Active Directory seems to be a really good way of organizing network objects as well.
However, this is not to say that Microsoft dominates in any other area.
For data / email and other services, UNIX/LINUX and their simple yet secure apps are still perfered.
And for databases, MS SQL Server is definately not among the top 3.

Novell has had the market share for networking for decades, but it has been diminishing quickly. Workers know Novell, and are reluctant to roll out something that they are less familiar with. I remember when I worked at a place that rolled out W2K. Things were very messed up!

Yes I know one that screwed up too. But almost every company I know is switching to W2K + network, usually with AD.
