    U've also got Glock 18's

    http://remtek.com/arms/glock/model/9/18/

And there are many many more.
What I wanted to know is how a random thought it was an automatic. I know my guns, well a little rusty now, and if someone ran past me with that Glock, I wouldn't be able to tell at a glance it was an automatic.
However, some automatics have a box under the barrel, which is a big give away.

I might move to the USA just to have a go on one of those G18c's

Maybe the eyewitnesses mean semi-auto? I think most people would reCognise a glock even at speed because they are quite distinctive looking anyway. I never even realised you could get full-auto Glocks with the same form-factor as a standard G17.

Our police should definitely get some of those.

    I know.

What will happen to the body of the dead guy if he turns out to be one of the bombers? Once the feds have finished with it will it be returned to his family or just disposed of? Discuss

"Officers" are not necessarily associated with the police, now, are they?

I am sure the evidence for this incident will be presented shortly.

We don't have feds here in the UK.

His clothing will be examined. His stomach will be examined. His skin will be examined.

    Pretty obvious stuff, really.

His body will be reconstructed, and then close family will need to identify him either from marks on the body, or from the face (if there's still one left)

They said the guy was wearing a heavy, padded coat like you'd wear in winter. Just wondering if it's to warm for that type of coat. I heard on the way to work that he didn't have anything on him after all, not that they could have taken a chance. Still trying to find some info on it though. One story, BBC I think, says he was a "known" suspect, whatever that means.

[edit]I see, he was suspected to be one of the bombers from yesterdays attempts, not a new bomber.[/edit]

Certainly not warm enough to be wearing a coat. Humdity is fairly high, too.

An automatic handgun is not a fully automatic weapon. Glocks are automatics because the automatically reload after every pull of the trigger. A tec 9 is a fully automatic handgun. A AR-15 is the automatic version of the fully automatic m-16. Semi automatic comes from the labeling of selector switches on fully automatic weapons.

Yeah it's not the first time. Imagine if we issued guns to all the police. I wonder how often this happens in places where all the police force carry guns.

Still, he was reported to have been asked to stop, and he ran instead. Perhaps enough for suspicion?

Re: 3 London Subway Stations Evacuated

I feel for this guys family.
But, IF the reports are correct, and he legged it, jumping barriers and stuff, and then boared a train after being repeatedly told to stop due to armed police then in the current climate then I have to back the polices actions and the use of lethal force I am afraid.
yea, it appears he was an innocent...but surely no-one is THAT stupid to run onto a train giving the impression it's a good possibility that he's a bomber.
If I was in his situation I would be rooted to the sport bricking myself that if I sneeze I'll get shot...I would not turn and leg it.

There are a lot of questions that the investigation will have to answer.
Was he challenged by the police? I was under the impression that because they thought he was a bomber they gave no warnings, to prevent him triggering any bombs.
They saw him leave the house so how come he got as far as entering a train if they thought he was a bomber?

One lesson for commuters, if your late for your train don't run to try and catch it you might get shot.

    Not often at all.

Mohammed B. who shot and mamed Theo van Gogh (filmmaker) was chased by regular police from the neighbourhood, if they didn't have guns they might not of caught him because he was aiming to kill (he admitted in court).

Many policemen take pride in the fact that they've never had to use their gun.
