    Open Office Base

    Just been looking at the open office alternative to MS Access, has anyone looked at it and what are your views. Can you connect to it from VB.Net would you recommend it for small scale apps as a real free alternative to Access backends. Apparrently it runs a HSQL database engine whatever that is?
