    Noise on vbforums

This is kind of weird...I am using a laptop at work..and it runs fine. Now, everytime I view this site there is an annoying ringing coming from it, but no other sites!

This noise also goes away when I am scrolling along the page, or as a page is loading, but once its done, BAM, its back.

    Anyone have any ideas??

I haven't got a clue - but I moved this to the feedback forum. Maybe one of the other admins has an idea

Its your boss. He doesnt want you posting on company time.
If you view VBF from another system at work will it do the same?
Try to determine if its coming from your laptop or the site.

What browser are you running and OS?

doesnt do anything on any other computer...just this one

The laptop is an IBM Thinkpad P3 (bleh) and I am using IE6.0..I dont think my boss wants Fx on her computer

And this noise..is like uhh...you know that annoying ringing you get in your ears? Like that

*edit* After some testing, I have found that only while on vbforums this noise comes up. I have tried running websites showing tons of colors, no colors, gone to other forums, ran some random programs..and nothing else makes the noise

I thought this was a Chit Chat post.

Do you have a microphone on that is creating feedback? It's possible that some of the ads might make some sound as they're executing, but its more likely feedback from your own machine.

Check the refresh rate of the screen. if you can get it to 75 Hz, it might cut down on it. Also, disable java if that doesn't work. Some of the adds run under java I believe because my VM comes up on this site.

Have you tried viewing any other site which has flash ads? Try some of JupiterMedia's other sites... the names of which I am not aware of. CodeGuru I think?
