CAB Files?
What do you do once you have CAB Files? How do you tell you computer to install them on a handheld?
Currently I keep using the "Deploy" Feature in VS to install the software I wrote, but sometimes the battery dies and it looses everything and I have to do another "Deploy"
What am I doing wrong? I can't figure out what to do with CAB Files. I have winrar installed and it just sees them as another type of zip file, so i can't just double click on them.
I can't find any install feature in active sync.
Is there some easy way of saving an image of the handhelds so when they die they can be restored at a state with all my software on them?
Is there a way to create an installer for a moblie project, I haven't had much luck with adding a setup project.
Thanks.

Re: CAB Files?
you just copy them to the device, via activesync, download from web, over over network connection.
then go to the devcie and double click on them

Re: CAB Files?
Ahh. Ok.
VS created 16 different cab files. Are these for different types of devices? Or do I need to copy all of them over to the handheld?
They are named things like "PPC.ARM.CAB" and "PPC.X86.CAB" and if I just need to copy one, how do I know which one for the device?

Re: CAB Files?
I looked up the system info on my handheld and figured it out.
Is it possible to make the handheld retain this program even if the battery dies?

Re: CAB Files?
before you copy the cab file to the device right click on it and make it readonly this will stop the cab file from deleteing itself after the install.
I'd recommend copying them to the flashdisk so that it will remain on the device if the battery dies

Re: CAB Files?
like you copy a normal file on your pc.
Ctrl +C and the file then open the activesync explorer and go to the flash disk folder and Ctrl+V
