    Business Engrish

Since you're all such brainiacs... does "manual" have the same meaning as "walkthrough"?

    Microsoft seems to think so

Seriously though manuals tend to be reference works, walkthroughs are more like training.

Reason is: I asked for a manual and got a walkthrough.

They in turn got an earful but anyway.

manuals are like "follow written instructions only" to achieve desirable results while walkthroughs are like "follow these, but not necessary, coz there are alternatives".......

thts why computer components, S/Ws have manuals but games have walkthroughs.

    i guess so.....

Walkthrough: A review of requirements, designs or code characterized by the author of the material under review guiding the progression of the review

    So... almost. If in context.

Manual means you have to use the clutch, walkthrough means you don't have to pay for parking.

    /scratches private parts...

You lot do know that I know the difference, yes? It's just that I ordered a manual (and expected to receive one) but got a walkthrough so perhaps there's a different definition employed by M$ I wasn't previously aware of.

    *sigh*
