VB and Flash

I need help badly,
I have a shockwave flash control on my form I can go to frame numbers, stop, play, change background colors, and exit the flash movie on my form. Actually, my question is this. There is a function called get variable in vb , well in flash i set a variable x=10, went back to vb dim x as integer then with vb and my shockwave control did a .getvariable(X)
msgbox x
and i got ishockwaveflash method failed ....
why in the hell would they have a get variable function if it doesn't work ...grrrrrrrr...
any help would be greatly appreciated

can you tell me exactly what you did to make your flash control work!!

i want to but everything that i've tried did not work,

try .. .getvariable(_root.x) or
where x reside in yoour movie

if you need it to work email me and i will give you a step by step walktrough on how to get it to work there are a few mods to the control , I found out some cool stuff though.
