Whenever I try to use the Winsock control in my VB 6 (Learning Edition) it always come up with a message that says:
"License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate licence to use this functionality in this design environment."
I am using Windows 95 with the newest Winsock Update.

But I did what it said and now my winsock control doesn't appear. I will try to re-register it using regsvr32...is that the correct thing to do?

Internet Controls, along with a lot of other controls are not available to users with the Learners Edition of VB, if you wish to use the Internet Controls and plan to program with them, I suggest you get the Professional or Enterprise Edition of VB.

Microsoft is cheap.
But anyway , I assume that internet controls won't work with VBCCE also?

Nope.
I had VB5CCE, couldn't do much. It's mainly just for making controls.
Then I got VB6 and I can use everything .

Nice catch Matthew
According to the MS Site, the Winsock control isn't fixed by VB6CLI.exe for the learning edition, therefore you probably can't use that particular control with your edition

Registry Hack !!!
Just Copy and Paste this in notepad and save it as
.reg file. Then Double click to merge the information with registry. The Control is now usable...
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses\2c49f800-c2dd-11cf-9ad6-0080c7e7b78d]
@="mlrljgrlhltlngjlthrligklpkrhllglqlrk"

Before I got VB6, I had the same problem, and I searched everywhere for a control. Planet-Source-Code is where I found it. I was using that fix for it for a while, than I think VB6 updated it because my computer has been reformatted and I didn't need to use that download again.
Whether it be Learners, Profession, Enterprise, I believe all has a right to every control, it helps you to practice and see your skills in certain areas. Some areas may be better than others and you try to improve them. And Internet Controls are a good area to start.
Glad it helped you.
