Fwiw
I was about 12 when the Apple II came out. My friend and I used to ride our bikes to the computer store, and sit in the store window playig Star Trek (sometimes) just to draw customers into the store. There was a Radio Shack next door, and I hung out there to use the TRS-80. A few years later we bought a HP-85 and developed a proggy for my friends work. We had to let them have the computer to use the program! I then ported it over to a PC writing QB-45. Development stopped when we maxed the memory, and have been selling it up until Windows 95. Now it's being ported over to VB, with the hard stuff done already. We also used the old proggy to make a database for 3600 items which we are selling as 2 excel chart print outs in the meantime.
In the meantime, I've learned COBOL, SAS, a little BAL/Assembler and a few semesters of C++. I passed tests on Brainbench.com for VB (2), COBOL, and Network Engineering. (They're free until the 14th of July)!
OOPS, NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A NEW THREAD!

I'll see what I can do...
Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you just water down your vodka.
Take credit, not responsibility

Re: Fwiw
Well, that was my second month on the forum. Wouldn't you know you couldn't delete the first thread in a post way back then either? Or else, it was too much to delete

Re: Fwiw
About the tests in Brainbench.com, what could it give us? Is it free still?

Re: Fwiw
They were free a few weeks ago, but I didn't take any. Last year they were free for 2 weeks. I struggled to pass one of them. The other two were eay.
Now, I'd ace them all, though.
