    System usage

    Two quick questions.
    1. I open up too many windows and I get an "Out of memory" error. Weird fonts appear on screen, pictures don't display... in sum, the computer crashes. Now, is that related to RAM or to the processor? I have 128MB RAM, and with my Pentium 3 800MHZ this never happened before. However, the processor broke, so I replaced it with a Celeron 588 MHZ. Is it Celeron's fault or is it just the RAM?

    2. When you open Notepad and go to Help -- About, the available system resource percentage appears on screen. Once again, is that available RAM or available "space" in the processor?

Did you reinstall Windows? I think it uses different drivers for faster processors. That may have something to do with it. 128 is a very small amount of RAM nowadays. I think that may be the minimum required, too. It may be higher, though. I'd get 512 if I were you.

What version of Window are you trying to run?? If its XP then 128 MB is not going to cut it especially with a 600 MHZ Celeron. My line of thought with Celeron's is to get as much RAM as you can get into the PC.

    Hmmm, no I didn't re-instal. It's Windows ME.
Yeah, I'm getting a new computer as soon as I can... I just wanted to know if "Out of memory" errors occur because of insufficient RAM or insufficient processing capacity...?
