Some Apps in system try won't startup

When I start my computer, sometimes some system try stuff doesn't startup. I mean like audio, battery (it's a laptop)... well I can't think of them right now, and I can't look at em because they didn't start up
    Help?

Try cleaning up your startup to remove any applications that you don't need to start.

    Update all your software

Optomise your PC (Clean internet Cache, put windows into performance mode, increase page file size if necessary etc)

Sorry if this seems obvious, but it's not just hiding your inactive icons is it?

make sure that they are actually set to start by looking in MSCONFIG.

Well, I'm pretty sure they are set up to start in msconfig. I checked under the Boot.ini, system.ini, and win.ini. Everything's checked. The thing is they sometimes load, and sometimes don't. It's very strange.

Maybe they depend on network access, and sometimes they don't have it?

When they don't startup, go to their applets in the control panel and see if they are checked or not, that may give an indication whether they should be loading or not.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

Re: Some Apps in system try won't startup

I had this exact problem on my Dell laptop. Things like the battery meter, the wireless utility, and the "Add / Remove devices" icon wouldn't come up once in a while. I narrowed it down to my CD/DVD drive. When I boot, if it's plugged in, that is the only time I ever had that happen. I installed the newer driver from Dell for the CD rom, and for the floppy (they are interchangable) and I haven't had the problem since.
