Re: Explosions in London
BBC.co.uk is obviously getting a lot of hits slow as hell.
This is scary.
Today is the day after the world finds out that London get the Olympics, and its also the day where all the security in britain is up at Gleneagles for the G8 summit.
Lets just hope that July 7 doesn't end up on the same page in history as September 11.

I guess more stuff would have happend at the same time if that was it. It hasn't been 100s of killed yet. But it is still pretty scary. My GF took the SubWay in Londong less then 2 weeks ago.. ..

Are you in London now Mend? Or your father? If he is I would advice you too call him and tell him to get out of public spaces, might not be over yet....

Might also be because the power is down in parts of London at the moment. BBC went off the air because of it...

I think it's been taken down on purpose given that mobile phones are probably how the bombs were detonated. Land lines will still work.

Re: Explosions in London
2 deaths confirmed, Al Qaeda suspected.
Weird thing though, there was a car bomb near Ealing (West London) at shortly after midnight last night, apparently its the work of an Irish splinter group. This has not had any airtime as far as I can tell. Anyone heard anything else?
I don't live here any more.

Re: Explosions in London
My cousin is in London and is trying to get a cab back to Romford.
A guy at work just came into our office and said that his daughter had been on the tube, riding in the carriage behind the one that exploded. She rang her boyfriend and he had just got off a bus that shared the same route with one that blew up later on!
Doesn't get much closer than that. Luckiest people in the world. Neither were hurt.
I don't live here any more.

What is lucky is that with 7 separate explosions only 2 people have died.

Re: Explosions in London
Isn't the number 2 only for the first explosion? Don't think they have anounced anything from the buss or the other sites yet.
And they are saying that people are still stuck in the tunnels.
