    Red face Maharishi University

Anyone heard of Maharishi University in the US?
    Brainbench sent me this.
It might be nice to study abroad for a couple of years.
Obviously the qualification would have to be valid in the UK to make it worthwhile.
You are invited to apply for the Computer Professionals Program to work in the USA and earn a Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) degree.

All international students receive financial aid for their tuition, housing, and meals, and work for two years in a full-paying U.S. practical training job. See http://mum.edu/compro/da07.

The Computer Professionals Program is available at only one accredited university — Maharishi University of Management in the USA.

    Here’s a brief summary:

    * You will earn an MSCS degree from a highly respected, accredited university that integrates the study of computer science with a scientifically proven technology for awakening your total brain potential.

    * You will receive academic credit while working in an IT job. The University’s IT placement office will assist you in obtaining a job. Over the past 7 years, our students have been hired by more than 370 leading U.S. companies, including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Sun, and Cisco.

    * Hiring remains very strong — in the past six months, more than 70 U.S. technology companies have hired our students.

    * A recent InfoWorld compensation survey found that the average U.S. salary of IT professionals with an MSCS degree is an extra U.S. $14,525 higher per year than the average salary of those without the degree.

    * The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The U.S. government has awarded the University more than U.S. $20 million in federal research grants.

    * The University is renowned for its harmonious campus in the friendly city of Fairfield, Iowa in the central USA. Many students come from other countries, living and learning together as a world family.

For full details on the program, visit http://mum.edu/compro/da07. You can apply online.

Maharishi University of Management is located at 1000 N 4th St., Fairfield, IA 52557

    Re: Maharishi University

Do you posses a four year degree? Seems that's the minimum requirement. It looks pretty good. I am only familiar with the Devry's and Chubbs which are big in my area all of which aren't that bad. You could always consider a state university. I attened Bergen Community College for a couple of years on and off http://www.bergen.cc.nj.us/ and now im looking to transfer to The University of Tennessee www.utk.edu.

Im my opinion if it's an accredited school it better be good because you don't want to attend, graduate then not be able to get a job. I attended CLC (Computer Learning Center) for sixteen months back in july of 99 and after graduating with honors i couldn't find a job that would hire me. Not only that the school closed one week after my classes ended. Seems the cause was bankruptcy.

Same thing happened to me, when I took an eight month class in Programming and Operations back in 1982. They claimed a 97% placement rate, but we figured out that this meant that they had placed 97% of the graduates that got jobs. Have to read the fine print I guess. They, too closed their doors shortly thereafter. They shall remain nameless

    Re: Maharishi University

Well I have a BSc and an MSc from 2 good UK universities but science doesn't pay well.
My mate with no qualifications gets paid the same as me working in the post office

I haven't read the fine print, but if it is a subsidised course, it could be fun to live/study in the US for a couple of years.
