Thread notifications

I was just wondering if future versions of vb will support a better thread notification system. For instance. Having a instant notification for a thread named "post race" would fill my email in box to the brim or somtimes having daily notifications on a thread that gets no replys is a pain. I would rather switch both over.

I guess in the former case i could just go to the thread from my email inbox when someone replys and unsubscribe right from the thread itself. But in the latter case if i want to change an older thread from daily to instant i have to find the thread within the huge subscribe threads list and change the notification.

I dont know how it works her, but on some fourums I've seen, you only get the notification once (when the first new post is made), all posts after that are not notified, until you read the thread (open it). After that you can again get notifications.
Also, notifications are only sent if your status is Offline.
