Versions WinXp Pro
Can someone please tell me the difference between OEM and Regular versions of WinXp Pro,I need to buy a single user version for a mate .and what price should he be looking at .

OEM is the most basic, it doesn't include a box and is how the manufacturer sold it to the company... It can only be used once, whereas the bxed version can be moved from PC to PC.

Also, I think that OEM can only be legally sold with hardware, not by itself.

Correct. OEM versions are not supposed to be sold to the masses, because they are special versions sold to the OEMs. They are identical to the boxed versions except w/o the box really, some often don't include the original CD either, because they use a special recovery CD which has the stuff installed on it. Also, you cannot install it on another computer to the one it was designed for as thegreatone said.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)
