Re: Sound!
Open the mixer in the system tray, and make sure the volume levels are not turned down, and that the MUTE button isn't checked.

Re: Sound!
If you go to add new hardware in control panel and reinstall your sound drivers it might work. If not it should open a step by step guide what to do next.

Re: Sound!
go:
Start>Control Pannel>Sound and Audio Devices>(under "Device Volume" click "Advanced")
or dubble click on the speaker in the bottom right corner of the screen, next to the clock (that is the System tray) (it may not be there, depending on if you said "do not show in System Tray")

Re: Sound!
it not that "advanced", there should be one above that one.
not everyone will have those choices, because the driver and hardware has to be compatable to use those two choices.
you do have another "advanced" button on that screen dont you?

Re: Sound!
try this:
Start>Control Panel>System>(click "Hardware" Tab)>(Click "Device Manager")
are there any that have an exclamation or red X by them? (if so post them)
(Click "Sound, video and game controllers")>(find the one that looks like the name of your sound card, and dubble click on it)>(click "Driver" tab)>(Click "update driver")> then follow the wizard.
