    MDAC version - Windows 95+

I'm looking to distribute a database driven (Microsoft Access) application on CD and need to know which is the best version of MDAC to distribute with it for Windows 95+

    Cheers

Not sure anyone is going to have current knowledge about something like this...

I found this old thread - maybe it will help

I would check MSDN and search around the knowledge base.

I also was part of this thread about MDAC and WIN98...

    dj4uk,

You could use the Automatic OS Updater to do this automatically for you or just use MDAC 2.0 and MDAC 2.8. If MDAC 2.8 doesn't install use MDAC 2.6.

Thanks both of you - very helpful.

Randem - The Automatic OS updater would save me a lot of time! What license does it fall under? Also is it possible to install MDAC without the VB runtime files?

    Thanks again.

    dj4uk,

No, the Auto OS Updater will always install the VB runtime files. Why would you not want them installed? The updater is free to distribute, no license required.

    and.... you are welcome!
