    Antispy ware errors log

I have Microsoft antispyware installed on my machine - I got an error saying that there was not enough freespace - I found that Antispyware was writing an errors.log file. It was 1GB - so I deleted it - now I have a piece of code that deletes the file every day.

Is there a more perment solution.

Ouch, thats one hell of a logfile, with that amount of errors i think you should clear up enough space to let it complete and clear your PC.

Then, you can fill your space again and not worry about the logfile.

It never finds any spyware - nor does spybot - so I think my machine is clean. The errors tend to be like this:

91::ln 0:Object variable or With block variable not set::gcasDtServ:modAgentsDataStore:IsDirty::24/06/2005 13:00:08:1.0.509

    Thanks for the reply

To me that looks like an error withing the application itself, when programming (in VB6 at least) you can get a similar error with a variable not being set.

    My suggestion :
    #1 Un-Install Microsoft Antispyware.
To do this goto Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Microsoft Antispware and click remove.

#2 Defragment harddrive. (this may have caused the messed up install to start with)
To do this goto My Computer > Right Click your systems main drive > Properties > Tools tab > Defragment Now...

    #3 Re-Install Microsoft Antispyware.
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en get it from there if needbe)

Try again, and see if the logfile problem persists.

    Hope this helps

My machine is always pretty much defragmented and scan disk is always ok aswell. I have been looking through the MS forums for the spyware - it seems qutie a common problem - that will be fixed not in the next beta version, but the one after that.

For now I will just keep the scheduled delete of the file.

    Thanks for the reply

    Ok, no problems.

I have just updated mine actually, no logfile problems as of yet.
