How to work in another country?
Hi,
Just thought about this, as I myself would like to work all around the world.
Any of you are working in a "different" country, and how did you get in? I mean for the normal guy, not those that got family or whatever that automatically qualifies you for living and working there.
In my case, I'm from south africa, now working in china. I came here with a 30 day tourist visa which I could extend 2 times for 30 days each while here.
Found myself a job and my employer applies for a working permit valid for 3 years. Still waiting to hear if it's approved though..if not, I'm in big big pooh...

I tried to get transferred to europe from the states a few times, but it never worked out, unfortunately. The language barrier was the biggest issue by far. That's the clincher for working all over the world: speak many languages. The second is justifying a company going through all the fuss of moving you to their country. There needs to be a good reason based on qualifications, etc.
I once knew a guy who's brother lived and worked in a different country almost every year of his life. I think he was a journalist. He did it effortlessly. I can only guess that he was a really good journalist.

There is, as they say, no such thing as US English. It's just a backwater, hik dialect.
