Checking if a pdf is damaged

I have downloaded a LOT of .pdf files. And some of these are for some reason damaged. Some have been damaged when they have been downloaded, and some are damaged all ready before they where downloaded.

But my question is. Is there some way to check if they are damaged. I have heard rumours about there beeing a Acrobat Reader SDK or something. Anyone know if that is the way to go or if there is an other better way?

Re: Checking if a pdf is damaged

Well, it looks like it can do the job for ONE file. But I need this automated. I am not going to test 10k files like that... At the moment I am trying to check if the Adobe SDK or a 3rd party library can do it (for free...) but no luck so far...grr...

the best thing would be if the guy who has the original files could make you a SFV or a PAR file or anything with a MD5 sum so you could check to see if you received the files correctly

Had the same problem, then I realized that some documents can only be opened in a certain version of acrobat reader.

Try installing older version and open the .pdf file with the other version's exe

Re: Checking if a pdf is damaged

I think I kind of lost this battle......since there is not even a real definition of what a corrup pdf file is.. I guess I am going to rely on the VB app I made. Just have to sneak over all the PDF files from the server one night when everyone is sleeling so no one notices that I am overloading it...
