Ughhh, my brother is always looking at porn, and I just found a few executables with the names similar to "hardcoremovies.exe" in the recycle bin, and an entry in my program files menu called "sizlerdialer"
I don't know if it's a virus or not......
and if it is that ******* is going to pay...
is there any good free software that can lock people out of certain sites if they don't have a password?
the key word here is free.....
Thanks,
Dennis

I should think you could build a site checker by looking at
the links from each potential page. Since almost all of
these sites cross link, my guess would be you could cut out
almost 98% of all porn with less than 100 link checks.

that doesn't bother him... he's been caught plenty of times....
and when I try to tell him to stop, he denies looking at it....
I wouldn't mind so much, but downloading *.exe's can really hurt the computer, and possibly wipe out my "stash".. j/k.. I don't look at porn...

A snooker ball (or billiard ball, or pool if you like) is a bit better (or worse depending which end of it you're on). Or if you have big feet, half a brick. Or if you're an elephant, a brieze block.

well, because it's not mine..... my dad paid for it....
so I have to let everybody use it..... even tho I don't want to...... I have had to format my computer like twice because my dumbass brother, once because my mom, and once because my dad.....
and about 3 times because it just accumilated too much stuff.....
but they've screwed the computer up so many times it's starting to really piss me off.
and they never show me any gratitude for my work, they never even attempt it themselves....
the other day my brother needed a school project done... and he needed to type it up....
I was having a lovely time chatting with my friends, but out of nowhere, he just comes in from playing with his ****** friend, and says "is the printer installed?"
and I said "no"
then he asked me to install it, I said I didn't want to, but then my dad forced me too, and after I got it working, my brother kicked me off the computer.....
same thing with DSL....
I am the one that "Caused" us to get DSL, I kept bugging my dad until he said yes, so, if I wouldn't have been bugging, we wouldn't have gotten it.... but the day it was installed(the guy who came here from mindspring installed half, then he gave us the CD and I installed the other half)... I was on for five minutes then my brother kicks me off..... then I want on after him, then my dad wants on.. I wasn't able to use it the whole day....

and whenever the computer table gets cluttered... it's my job to unhook the computer, and clean the desk off, because I am the one on it 90% of the time..... but it's odd..... 80% of the junk is not mine.... and I still have to clean it off.... while cleaning, I think I am going to be able to get on afterwards, but somebody usually makes me get off since "I spend so much time on it" they don't even thank me for cleaning it off....
they never thank me for calling tech support when something is really screwed up, they never thank me for fixing something myself, that is really screwed up, they never thanked me for making the connection faster(I used that rwin modifier thing that katie said to use)....
they thank me for other stuff I do, but when it comes to the computer, they just assume I would have done it for myself anyway, and don't bother.....
and, I am not allowed to change the color of the desktop, the screen resolution, the mouse cursor, put the taskbar on autohide, or anything...
currently I am using 800x600, but I would prefer 1024x768, I would rather have the desktop color a wierd aquamarine than this damn blue, I would rather have the mouse cursor be a real mouse cursor and not a dumb mouse(the animal, it came with the intellipoint software).... etc....
and sometimes they accidently open ICQ, and just leave it... they don't bother telling me, or trying to close it.. or answer the messages(this part I am grateful for, because some of the stuff I talk about... )...
but they just think I am there to fix the computer, and let them go on anytime they want...
one time I was working on a school project, and the time I needed to make it was about a week(spring break), but after being on the computer 3 hours I was kicked off by my brother....
I was only able to work on it 3 hours a day... it needed at least 6....
I couldn't finish the project, and got an F on it...
Ok, thats enough of my bitching.. I can't even remember what the original topic of this post was

Although if they ask nicely if they could use it I say 20mins or something.

ha! My bro is kinda like that as well, only he likes looking at porn and taking all sorts of files from my computer (ranging from my documents to program I've downloaded) and it gets really annoying...Since we've got Wingate like program running I log he sites he goes to and block the dirty ones (and suprisingly he doesn't say anything about sites not working). And I wrote a little screen shot program that takes screen shots whenever the mouse moves so I know what he's been doing on my computer when I'm at school...its funny to see what he tries to do. And when that doesn't stop him, I use PGP and encrypt my entire folder before I leave the house

Well I'm no encryption geek but PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is a encryption program based on private/public keys and is supposed to be very secure.
Sure, I'll email it...but be warned! its in a bit of a mess!

Being a Programmer Yourself Why Not Remember that in the First Place ???
You can DO a Program That Runs hidden in the Back ground
that Prevents the Download of Images of the (Ahem..) xxx kind.

that sounds like a good idea G.
I might consider making one...
What should I do?
subclass IE, and check what is typed in the address bar, if it has the word sex, porn, etc.. should I keep IE from loading it?
Thats all I can think of right now

My Idea Would Be hooking up the Winsock dll to
allow you to control all the image downloading.
Prevent any Image that seems to be excessively large
I mean in the Range 100KB and up...
Check the file name if it contains some key words like
'sex' , 'x', 'free' etc.....If they occur, check back their
domain name if it contains anything in the list of key words. Then Replcae the Image with a Warning Image..
If you can't pronounce my name, call me GURU
