    CODE tags

Is there a way to disable CODE tags and leave VBCODE for VB6/NET/VBA forums at least - annoys the hell of me - you try scrolling page but instead something else gets scrolled ...

    Thanks.

    Re: CODE tags

Do you mean the standard [Code] tags textbox?

When you try to mouse wheel scroll down a page and your mouse is over the Code textbox and you scroll but only the code textbox scrolls
    and not the page.

    Re: CODE tags

If you post some code using CODE tags it creates a textbox on the page with scrollbars if text exceeds control's boundaries. This creates "double scrolling" effect wich is very annoying - try using scroll wheel on your mouse and when it gets over textbox it will start scrolling what's in it. I absolutely hate it so I was wondering if there is something can be done.

I have the same problem with my touchpad. The cursor position drives me crazy. If the cursor is at the bottom of a page it doesn't do anything!

    Re: CODE tags

    Well
    • you could use the scrollbar
    • you could click the mousewheel and move the mouse to scroll
    • or you could use Page down/up

None of those are affected by scrollable textboxes embedded in the page.

    Re: CODE tags

There are lots of things that "we could" ... none of them is the answer for me, though.
When you get for instance a spyware on your machine what would you do? Just close it every time you see it runs and let it continue to annoy you or you will try to get rid of it?

May be it wasn't a good example but every time I see that "scrolable textbox" in the thread there is 9 out 10 chance that I won't bother reading it ...

    Re: CODE tags

Probably the only viable solution is to just make sure you dont let your mouse go over the code textboxes. Keep it to either side
of the page when you want to wheel scroll down a page.

I use my finger to scroll down a page, and over the code, the cursor gets lost, and I have to move it. If I try to scroll too fast, the cursor goes off screen and then nothing scrolls.
