MP3's are pretty small. I think they are the smallest possible without loosing sound quality

Would converting the MP3 to WMA work?

That can work. Or you can convert them to ATrack3 if you find a converter. That is Sonys format, and much smaller then MP3s.

Im guessing that would cost right.

I just remembered the new Nero automatically converts files before burning to CD, i might give it a blast the WMA way, or find a free Audio Converter.

Thanks for the ideas, ill get back to you

No idea. Never done a search for it. Never needed it. But if you buy a sony discman, the software comes for free. So you might be able to download it from their site.

Not if you burn it as a data CD. Only if you say it is a music CD.

converting the mp3 to wma will result in loss of the quality { believe me..... i was working on WAV2MP3 converter n i tried many compressed format before deciding on mp3} i converted mp3 to wma and i got the most disastrous result. try to encode the mp3 to mp3 again using some good encoder and try changing the parameters like bitrate and frequency...........but it will take time since it is a hit and trial method

All the old mp3's used to be low bitrate and sampling rate. The quality was terrible, and i always disliked the output. You had to equalize it just to listen to it. Now, they are recorded at a much higher format. You can usually cut it down some.
