Doing validation – but only if a specific button gets hit – how?

On my page there are different possibilities to make a post (calendar, treeview, links and buttons), but I only want to make the validation-check if a specific button is hit!

What is the proper way to do it?

if u want to remove validation check from some button's just set causevalidation Property of button =false
