    exe file

    Hi there,

I'm using MS office 2003 o create VB forms and micros in Excel. Unfortunatly, I can't install VB.net as i don't have enough space on my HD. Can someone please tell if Excel allows me to create an exe file consists from the forms or applications that I have just been created in Excel. I would like to have them seperated and not being related to the work sheets in Excel. In other words, I would like to be able openig a simple form that i have just been created without firing up the Excel or any of its features.

    Many Thanks In Advance.

    Ben

As far as I am aware there is no way to create an EXE file though VBA - you would need VB or VB.Net to do this I think.

The only version of Office that allows you to compile VBA code to an .exe file is Office XP (2002) Developer version.

    Hey RobDog,

Good to see you again man. (-:

Do you know if there is any add-in or small application that comes on the top of the excel 2003 or the VB editor itself in order to fulfill this function?

once last time, i use the .vbs script and able to load the form out from excel without displaying or showing excel program. is that what u want, although it is not .exe file, but the user might not know u are using excel.

    asmdev,

I'm not sure if I understand you question but i could edit the MsgBox from the VB editor and revise the content. I could do it under the General decleration. Unfortunately, I can''t help you further as I'm just a lousy beginner. (-:

    Re: exe file

em, i mean to modify or access the textbox text using visual basic code. not directly manipulate it from the (properties window or format control)

    Re: exe file

    Hey asmdev,
unfortunately i couldn't find the answer for your prob. I treid to see whether the textbox text can be accessed from the VB code but without success. It seems that this is not a regular textbox as I double clicked on it and only could see some different attributes. In either case, I'm not a VB or VBA fluent and i wish that I could help you more. Maybe the best way for you is to open your own thread for this prob.

    Re: exe file

Mate, I would like too but for soem reason the system refuse of give you more than one
rate. It says "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to asmdev again". I have already rated all other so no place to spread it. However, if you want then you can send me your email and I'll send you an official letter of recommendation. (0:
