I didn't realize you were looking for eBooks. I can't help you there, because whatever sources I do know are, well, illegal.

There's a free downloadable eBook here . I haven't checked it out, though, so don't know if it will be aimed at beginner level.

Some books now have an electronic version on the book's accompanying CD. I don't know what the legal/copyright issues would be if anyone sold their copy of the CD but kept the printed book, though. I would guess that it' s probably not allowed.

An Introduction to Programming Using Visual Basic .NET, Fifth Edition.
    By David Schneider

Designed for students with no prior computer programming experience, this new edition of a best-selling text uses Visual Basic .NET to explore the fundamentals of programming. A broad range of examples, case studies, exercises, and programming projects give students significant hands-on experience. A "tried and true" text, this book has been consistently praised by both students and instructors.

This is a great book for learning VB.Net

I am currently using it to learn Programming VB.Net

    http://www.apress.com/free/index.html
    Has:
    • Programming VB .NET: A Guide For Experienced Programmers
    • COM and .NET Interoperability
    • Dissecting a C# Application: Inside SharpDevelop

The download asks for an email but this can be left blank.

I've have also seen Wrox's Begining VB.NET and Databases but can't seem to find a link for it at the moment.

Thanks buddy. I'm moving up from my comfort zone (VB6) to .net and its not as logical to get things done IMHO. But I have to persist if am not to become a dinosaur.
