What Operating System do you develop on?

I am currently developing on Xp Pro but am finding the limitations to be annoying and thinking about upgrading to W2K3.

Limitations: IIS 5.1 (1 sites, limited connections)
Can't install SQL 2000 Server Enterprise

Win2K3 mostly, since we mainly develop web apps which we deploy onto Win2K3.

Use 2K3 @ work which is a pain in the proverbial because we deploy to XP, 2K and NT so invariably, everything breaks when we try to deploy

At home and when I'm teaching, I use XP. No probs.

did you hear of this -> http://www.mono-project.com/Mono:About

Mono, the open source development platform based on the .NET framework, allows developers to build Linux and cross-platform applications with improved developer productivity. Mono's .NET implementation is based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Infrastructure.

yes, but its incomplete, and there is no vb.net compiler.

Process control doesn't give you good quality, it gives you consistent quality.
Good quality comes from consistently doing the right things.

I develop on XP Pro but we have several 2003 Servers, a SQL 2000 Server, and an Exchange 2003 Server. So I can develop
just about any type of app. I havent done an embedded app yet but probably will some time soon.
