    Resolved Compliments, Comments, and Suggestions

Okay i'm gonna cut straight to the point.
    I.Compliments:
1)You are the most active VB society i have ever seen
2)I am very glad that you have proffesionals viewing around the forums
3)Great links and tutorials...I didn't know there were free VB tutoring videos.
4)Great attitude. Proffesional & friendly understanding between programmers.
5)Good tolerance with noobs. I haven't found profanity anywhere yet and i hope i won't.

    II.Comments:
1)It is botherng for users to go back and edit their first posts when the problem is resolved
2)It is somewhat bothering fo users to keep refreshing waiting until an important question is answered
3)It is slightly bothering for users to keep typing "\vbcode" whenever they want to enter code

    III.Suggestions:
1)Add a chatroom, or many chatrooms for that matter.
2)Add a button for posts that says "email the replies to this post to me" so we are notified once someone has solved the problem.
3)Try to make seperate frames that show how the code appears or something so we type the code in it also. Makes stuff easier.
4)Add an option button that says "this problem has been resolved" so that it changes the post's icon to resolved. Make this button accessible only to the user who first started the thread.

All in all i give you 9.5\10. The BEST VB COMMUNITY and the BEST BY VERY FAR VB.NET COMMUNITY i have ever known.

Thank you for all your hard work put into these forums,
    Imad Akel

Not a good idea! Most sites with chats will be declared "Non Work" and will be blocked for a lot of us browsing vbforums at work!

Thanks for an overall good review. Happy to hear that you like it here. Most users tend to be happy about this community. So am I.

    About your suggestions ++

Many persons has asked the same. Me included a year ago or so. But there is no sutch function in vBulletin at the moment, and every time we have tried to change the underlying code like for the [Highlight=VB] tag, something weird has happend, that we can't understand has anything to do with what we did.

So we are trying not to do changes to the underlying code at all.

As I stated above, we need to change the forum code to do this. And we try not to do that to keep the forum run smoothly without errors.

I think the same. That is why I am using the Fx browser with the refresh plugin. I can right click and press refresh automaticaly and it refreshes the page every 30sec, 10 sec or so as you choose your self. About the waiting time. Well we all have to deal with it. There is nothing else to do then wait.

oh well....9.5 pretty darn good anyway those were just some suggestions to make the site PERFECT...
and frankly i have never seen a PERFECT site or forum of any category.
try about the option buttons though i am sure in a coding community like this someone should be able to help with the vBulletin.

You may be right about the chatrooms SGT-Peppa i know alot of unserious vb chatrooms too that dont really work very proffessionally

Like i said this community is very professional and successful and a few details like those comments i made don't actually bother me enough to keep me from not coming again.

I know ur doing ur best on the boards...Keep up the good work.

P.S.-the wait on your boards is not that long and bothering. I listen to a couple of songs and you've already replied.
-the vbcode thing isnt really bad on the contrary its an excellent feature not many communities have
-the editing ur first thread icon, now that is what mostly bothers me but then again messages are answered and filled up so fast that they are resolved by the time they are on the second page and then u dont have to edit the icon anymore.

All in all you have earned the 9.5\10 so don't thank me really i am a very criticizing person in reality but i only found little to criticize about you because you fulfill your goal(mission, task, calling, etc...), which is actually helping programmers.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. We try hard and it's nice to hear that we're doing a good job. Here are some things you may not be aware of:

    II.Comments:
2)It is somewhat bothering fo users to keep refreshing waiting until an important question is answered
    ==>See Suggestion 2 below.
3)It is slightly bothering for users to keep typing "\vbcode" whenever they want to enter code
==>If you use Internet Explorer you can use the Valuable Forum Tool (click the link in my signature) to add vbcode, italic, bold, hightlight, etc, etc, etc tags with only a couple of mouse clicks.

    III.Suggestions:
1)Add a chatroom, or many chatrooms for that matter.
    ==> We have Chit Chat.
2)Add a button for posts that says "email the replies to this post to me" so we are notified once someone has solved the problem.
==> Not sure what you mean here. If it's your thread or if you have replied to a thread you get automatic email notifications. You can also subscribe to any thread and the same thing will happen.
3)Try to make seperate frames that show how the code appears or something so we type the code in it also. Makes stuff easier.
==>Are you talking about formatting VB code here?

i have made threads but their replies haven't reached my email i have to keep checking up on them and where can u subscribe to a thread?

the frame thing i am talking about is to post code in a side box or something so u don't have to be putting vbcode all the time but ur tool manages that so i will give it a shot...

My u are a persistant site. If u were a student u would go to a teacher, argue about a 98\100 so it becomes a 99 or 100.

    for that i will give u 9.75\10

You can subscribe to a thread by opening the thread and then opening the Thread Tools menu where you'll see Subscribe to this thread. However if email isn't working that won't help. Let me take a minute and look at your account. I'll send you a Private Message with what we think your email address is.

    Re: Compliments, Comments, and Suggestions

It wasn't your email (at least I don't think so) but rather the email notification setting in your profile which I just changed. BTW I noticed that you accept PMs but you have it set so that you aren't notified when you get them. You might want to change that.

    Adding my 2 cents...
To change the email notification for all the threads that you create or post replies to.
Control Panel > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification > Default Thread Subscription Mode > select either "Instant email notification",
"Daily email notification", "Weekly email notification", or "No email notification".
