Resolved find all changes in the registry

    hi all.
I installed something on my PC yesterday. Then later I decided to remove it. So I ran the add/remove uninstall. I also removed the folder it set up in Program Files. Then I went to the registry and deleted every key I could find under the company name.

But I am still seeing evidence that something remains in the registry.

I am just wondering if there is a way to locate all changes made to the registry, say within 24 hours, and undo them.

I know I could roll the PC back to yesterday morning. I just don't know how that would affect the rest of the pc.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

If you havent installed anything other then the thing you tried to remove then its best todo a roll back. You are running XP?
Unless you hade a backup of your registry or system there is not a whole lot you can do other then rollback or till try to clean out
the reminants of the thing you installed.

Re: find all changes in the registry

    Thanks.
    That's what I did.
I hadn't used that feature in a long time. I forgot that it detailed the changes per restore point.

I rolled it back three days.

    No apparent loss.
    Nice feature!
    Thanks again.

It is nice. I have used it only once so far but just one time is valuable enough
I got in the habit now when I get ready to install something I create a new restore point and name it of what I am installng.

Same here, Rob. I do that too. However I just wanted to point out that I have lost data more than once in my "My Documents" location by using the rollback...

Really! I thought it said that is rolls back the registry, windows & system32 directories, and removes any installations
that were done after that dated snapshot?

Re: find all changes in the registry

Ya I know (grrr), I have my VB code all under my "My Documents." I rolled back a day, and lost a day of code. Thank goodness I have daily backups on my MicroDrive!

Also, my son had downloaded patches to his game under his "Program Files." I assured him his patches would not be tampered with, but when we did his rollback, all his patches were gone. He had to re-download them, and re-install them. Egg all over my face...
