    Resolved DLL Startup Problem [RESOLVED]

There have been a few programs i have tried installing and they dot work, i get an error saying something about the wrong RSC STUB Version or something.

I have tried installing the Macromedia Dreamweaver Trial, that wont install, and a few others dont neither, like a MP3 converter i tried wont work

I tried going to microsoft, and updating the Windows Installer, but i have the latest version, my only problem that i am aware of is that Java wont install on my pc, but surely that is irrelevant

Re: Why wont most installers work?

I went onto microsoft and found a page, stating it might be something to do with Office 2000. I downloaded this file from the site to update some dll's (oleaut.dll) i think. Now everytime i restart i get a message (failed to load oleaut.dll) and My Computer shows no files, and there is nothing in the system tray?

    What should i DO?!

    | PHP Session --> Database Handler * Custom Error Handler * Installing PHP * HTML Form Handler * PHP 5 OOP * Using XML * Ajax * Xslt | VB6 Winsock - HTTP POST / GET * Winsock - HTTP File Upload

Latest quote: crptcblade - VB6 executables can't be decompiled, only disassembled. And the disassembled code is even less useful than I am.

    Re: Urgent Problem

    phew

I just fixed it, fortunately for me i had a backup from yesterday

I had to boot in safe mode, then:

    Start>Run>"C:\Windows\System\mcrepair.exe"

Loaded the new dll's (again) which worked, i used the backup to remove the previously loaded dlls

    Panic over

    Thanks Visual
