Cleaned house last night

Texas Hold'em $20 cash game, five people. I knocked one out plus half of two. I want to see if i could get some opinions on this bet. Last hand three diamonds were thrown out on the flop then another diamond, i think i had one or two diamonds in my hand(probably was one) but i do know it was a jack of diamonds. Now if you had nothing would you bet all in? To me that's pretty stupid. My friend put all in like $18. Now there was a big probability that both of us could have a flush. Even though i had a jack i didn't want to get into playing high card so i folded. He had nothing in the end. Stupid? I vote yes.

I cleaned house too. Only literally though... spent 3 hours and filled up two garbage bags.
